Dress Mania

So here's a HUGE wedding update: with Carol's insicive, decisive and entertaining help a DRESS HAS BEEN PURCHASED! It is a gorgeous lace Monique Lhuillier in which Nancy becomes 6'2 thin and busty. It's stunning.
BTW: the Vera Wang boutique experience was fascinating. Nancy tried on a $ 9 k number that may actually be worth it for the price-is-no-obstacle jet-setters.
Congats Miss Bride on a decision you won't regret!

Sorry, in case "she becomes 6'2 thin and busty" came out wrong. Let's just say the dress ACCENTUATES in all the right ways.

    friendo - you're so funny.

yes there is a dress situation. it cost way too much. I'm mortified. But carol told me that the bride has a responsibility to the guests to "put on a show" - she said it's rude to make people travel to sit through a boring wedding if the bride wears a crappy dress.

her position that a wedding dress has ethical responsibilities is marvelous.

kudos carol. and thanks to simon as well.

i was becoming extremely nervous about the lack of dress. the crappy bargain dress says, "hey, i really didn't care about this whole shindig, and i'm clearly looking for a way to cut corners" which makes the guest feel awkward. these are terrible symbolic themes for the first day of marriage. shouldn't marriage be entered into with excess?

busty. who says that? my aunt barbara in 1978.
